Iran has surrounded Israel from three sides with its pets Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. And Iran is being targeted from 10 sides by Israel and America. In 1971, 57 Islamic countries stood against the independence of Bangladesh. They remained silent despite seeing the brutal genocide of 3 million Bengali Muslims at the hands of the Muslim country Pakistan. Even before the brutal murder of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman of Bangladesh, many of them did not even recognize the blood-bathed Bangladesh. Where was their “consciousness of the Islamic Ummah” that day??

At the beginning of our war of independence, the helpless freedom fighters started the resistance war with broken weapons and old country-made rifles. The first country to send modern weapons and ammunition to the freedom fighters, apart from the limited weapons provided by India, was Israel. The first country in the Middle East to recognize Bangladesh was Israel. (Although the newly created Bangladesh government rejected that recognition under pressure from the Muslim world.)

Today, the country is stateless, internationally unrecognized, illegal according to international law, and the UN-declared armed group “Hamas” is losing its lives in an unequal war with a UN member state like Israel. This is nothing but their recklessness, arrogance, arrogance and religious fanaticism. It should not be forgotten that last year’s Hamas-Israel war began when, without any declaration of war, a barbed wire bulldozer was used to break through the border wall of an independent sovereign state, and 5,000 missiles were fired simultaneously, killing 1,400 Israeli civilians. The result of this was the death of 74,000 innocent Gazans until February 26!! Yet Bangladesh observes a day of “national mourning” for this unspeakable “suicide” by Hamas!!!

Has anyone heard that Islamic countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, Pakistan, etc. have observed a day of mourning, let alone an hour or a minute, in memory of their unfortunate Muslim brothers in neighboring Palestine?

Palestine or “Hamas” has been receiving international relief, aid, and sympathy for almost 100 years and this has become their only source of income. There is no education, no science, no study of history, no study of literature, no study of music – culture, no knowledge of information technology. Relief, just eating relief, killing relief, and thinking about relief, a nation has grown old.

They could have continued the systematic movement for a just or equal territory by accepting the Palestine-Israel two-state proposal (47:53 ratio of land) announced by the United Nations in 1948 – which their great leader Yasser Arafat accepted in 1992. The entire world respected and supported his systematic intifada of that day. Today, the world is watching with disappointed eyes what the greater Palestinian population has gained by artificially dividing Yasser Arafat’s PLO and giving birth to Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and various armed family groups.

Wishing for the long life of “Hamas”, those in Bangladesh and Pakistan who heat up Baitul Mukarram, highways, tea shops, hotels, buses, trains, metrorails every Friday – those who are fasting, vowing to sacrifice a pair of bulls if Hamas wins – we know them. One day, Tenarai used to fast for Bin Laden, pray for him, sacrifice a cow, and with his fierce bragging, he heated up the sky and the highway. This identified group went to fight for the blind, ignorant, illiterate, armed Taliban of Afghanistan – they used to heat up the north gate of Baitul Mukarram every day saying “We will be Taliban – Bengal will be Afghan”. We saw their leaders hanged on the gallows later as war criminals of 1971.

However, we Bengalis are a very emotional, very amnesiac nation. Otherwise, would we allow the war criminal Razakars to put red and green flags on their cars?

Otherwise, would we push away our friends who were tested in the liberation war and climb into the lap of those whose weapons killed 3 million Muslims???

We have established diplomatic relations with Pakistan, which has not apologized to Bangladesh for the genocide even after 53 years of the liberation war, opened a high commission in Karachi, and allowed their ISI spies to open an office in Dhaka under the guise of a high commission.

And we have strictly banned Israel, the country that first helped our brave freedom fighters with modern weapons and recognized them in 1972. We have even written hateful words in their names on our passport pages.

Israel’s biggest enemy, Palestine, has not banned Israel from their passports. Despite being enemies of each other, Palestine and Israel have maintained diplomatic relations with each other in accordance with international etiquette.

Israel has had diplomatic relations with its neighbor India for a long time. India’s Muslim population is more than that of Bangladesh. Recently, Israel has made a formal proposal to India to employ 80,000 skilled and unskilled Indian workers in that country. Indian experts like scientists, educationists, doctors, engineers, etc. have long occupied the Israeli job market with attractive salaries. In this day of foreign exchange scarcity, we have missed out on the Israeli market – India, Nepal, Sri Lanka
