No one has forgotten about the attack on Ramu Buddhist village in Cox’s Bazar. On September 29, 2012, a group of local Muslims hacked the Facebook page of a young Buddhist named Uttam Barua and posted insults to the holy book of Islam, the Qur’an and the Prophet, destroying and damaging 19 Buddhist temples in Ramu. In that Ramu, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, a Buddhist monk gave Iftar items to about one and a half thousand Muslims.
On Friday (May 8) afternoon, the imams of about 20 mosques in the union and at least 1,500 people from 60 families under these mosques handed over the Iftar items at the ancient banyan tree premises below Bihar.
It is learned that the historic Rankut Banashram Buddhist Monastery built by Emperor Ashoka at Ramu in Cox’s Bazar recently implemented this great initiative to stand by the people who have become unemployed in the Corona situation. Many consider this initiative of a Buddhist monk to be a unique example of communal harmony.
“We are all human beings, not religious ones,” said Mr Jyoti Sen Thero. This is the reality that I will stand by people as human beings. So I am happy to stand by the fasting people in the holy month of Ramadan.
Chairman of Rajarkul Union Parishad Mofizur Rahman praised the Iftar of Buddhist monastery. Again, all these such socialist are fueling the attack on this temple with only a few incidents like Facebook without any evidence.
It is easy to harm someone by using social media called Facebook. Facebook is an easy way to smash a house, set it on fire, kill it, or ruin your life with legal complications. The majority of non-communal Bangladesh has not yet been given exemplary punishment for this tactic.
It is to be noted that not a single trial of 16 cases of that infernal attack on Ramu has been completed yet. No one was punished for this heinous incident. All those arrested in the incident are now out on bail. The incident of hacking Facebook from Ramu with the same strategy is constantly happening in different areas. Followers of Islam behind all the events. But the innocent minority gets punished. This is the pattern of secularism in Bangladesh.
