We are going to set out taka 12 hundred and 31 crores project to digital survey capacity development of the Department of Land Record and Survey (DLRS). I hope the people of Bangladesh get the benefit. We are trying to develop a sustainable system for land management. Besides, the land development tax collection system will be fully digitalized.
Said Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, MP today, Sunday, while inaugurating the 119th Survey and Settlement Training Course for the officials of Administration, Police, Forest and Railway cadre of Bangladesh Civil Service and Bangladesh Judicial Service at the Officers’ Training Institute (OTI) at Savar, near the capital city Dhaka. The course, organized by DLRS for 44 officers, is scheduled to end on the 29th of December next month.
The land minister also said that work is underway to implement the ‘Digital Land Management System’ project funded by the Government of Korea under the ‘Economic Development Cooperation Fund’. The project has been undertaken to introduce digital land management in Rajshahi, Chittagong, and Narayanganj City Corporations, Manikganj Municipality, Kushtia Sadar and Dhamrai Upazilas.
The minister said that all officials working in the land offices are being brought under accountability by conducting the anti-corruption drive while responding to the question of a journalist.
Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have turned this country into self-reliant Bangladesh – The minister further said that. Inshallah, we will be a developed country very soon. Apart from that, we are advancing in such a way so that we can give good news to the nation on land management in the ‘Mujib-Year’ – he added.
Special guest of the program, Land Secretary Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary told the trainees, “If you successfully complete this course, you will be able to better serve the people of this country with the knowledge gained from it.”
Land Ministry Additional Secretary Pradip Kumar Das, DLRS Directors Md Shahjahan and Md. Anisuzzaman, including the officers from the Savar administration and land administration, officers of the adjacent OTI and Fisheries Training Institute were present, while the event was chaired by Director General of DLRS Md. Taslimul Islam. The welcome speech was delivered by the course director and DLRS director A. B. M. Fazlur Rahman.
