President Md. Abdul Hamid has given the following message on the occasion of the ‘National Productivity Day’:
“I am delighted to know that National Productivity Organisation (NPO) under Ministry of Industries is going to celebrate the ‘National Productivity Day’ on October 2, 2020.
On the occasion of the birth centenary of the architect of independent and sovereign Bangladesh Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the government has declared the period from March 2020 to March 2021 as ‘Mujib Year’. The theme of this year’s National Productivity Day ‘Productivity in building Golden Bengal the dream of the Father of the Nation’ is very time worthy in this regard.
The economic development of a country depends on increasing productivity. There is no alternative to increase productivity for sustainable development and growth. Productivity involves the quality of people’s daily living standard, skills in economic activities and quality of institutional functions. For this, productivity has to be increased in every sector including agriculture, industry and service. To achieve the goal, all government as well as non-government industries and organizations must come forward. I hope that the observance of National Productivity Day will provide an opportunity to realize the importance of productivity by mass people.
Bangladesh is moving forward on the highway of development. Despite manifold adversities, the rate of economic growth of the country is increasing steadily. The government is determined to achieve Vision-2021 and United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030. Besides, we set our target to become a developed country by 2041. We have to increase productivity in every economic sector with a view to achieving the targets. I firmly believe that through the endeavor it will be possible to establish the Golden Bengal as dreamt by the father of the Nation.
I wish the observance of ‘National Productivity Day-2020’ a grand success.
Joi Bangla.
Khoda Hafez, May Bangladesh Live Forever.”
