A platform called ‘Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh’ has called for a gathering today under the title ‘March for Gaza’ to protest the Israeli attack on the besieged Gaza territory of Palestine and to express solidarity with the Palestinians.

Although the mass gathering was scheduled to begin at 3 pm today, Saturday (April 12), a large number of people have already arrived at Suhrawardy Udyan.

It was seen on the spot that people are coming in small and large processions. Some processions are coming from the direction of Shahbagh, some from the direction of Doel Chattar, and some from the direction of Nilkhet. Everyone is holding the flag of the country and Palestine.

At this time, this reporter spoke to Touhidul Islam, who came with 8 friends from Uttara in the capital.

He said, “We are unable to do anything for them from here due to the brutality that is going on in Palestine today. That is why I have come to participate in this program to at least show that we are by their side.”

Touhidul Islam further said, thousands of young people like us have already come to Suhrawardy Udyan to express their sympathy for Palestine.

Nazmul Hossain is selling Palestinian flags in front of the gate of Suhrawardy Udyan adjacent to TSC.

He said, I have come here not only to sell flags, but to express my stance against the oppression of Muslims. People have been flocking to Suhrawardy Udyan since morning. Even though the event is in the afternoon, there is no place to step on the roads in front right now.

Nazmul Hossain further said, other Muslims cannot tolerate such oppression of Muslims, that is why so many people have come.

The organizers said that this arrangement has been made with the aim of standing by the innocent Palestinian people and making the world speak out. It is expected that several lakhs of people from all over the country will participate in this protest program.

In the meantime, prominent figures from various religious, social, cultural, political and sports fields have expressed their solidarity with this program.

Incidentally, various political and social organizations including BNP, Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), Jamaat-e-Islam, Hefazat-e-Islam are participating in the ‘March for Gaza’ program.
