Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman said that all the applicable data of the smart land service system of the second version of the Ministry of Land will be shared with the Law and Justice Division. This will enable judges and magistrates to verify land documents while presiding over a court session. As a result, the applicable information related to the land can be verified quickly, and it will be possible to settle the relevant cases at the earliest.
The land secretary made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop on smart land service for assistant judges/equivalent judicial officers participating in the Foundation Course of Judicial Administration Training Institute held at the conference room of Bhumi Bhaban in Tejgaon on Wednesday.
The secretary also mentioned that registration-mutation interconnection has already been established in 17 upazilas on an experimental basis to facilitate automatic mutation as per deed document. Referring to Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury’s clear instructions in this regard, the secretary stated that the interlink between the land office and the concerned sub-registry office will be expanded across the country soon.
The Land Secretary said efficient land management is crucial to realize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for a Sonar Bangla and Smart Bangladesh. That is why the Prime Minister has given great importance to the digitization of land services. The Ministry of Land and the Law and Justice Division, the two highest executive bodies of the government responsible for providing land services to citizens, must work on the same page.
In the workshop, Dr. Md. Jahid Hossain Panir, BPAA, Joint Secretary of DKMP wing of the Ministry of Land, briefed the trainee assistant judges/equivalent judicial officers of the foundation course about various initiatives related to smart land management through an illustrated presentation. Later, assistant judges/equivalent judicial officers participated in the question-and-answer session and engaged in dialogue with others, expressing their views.
