We recently conducted a public opinion poll with the Mayor elections of Dhaka North and South. Of the voters in the north, 5 participated in the survey and 120 in the south. Not only the victory of the Awami League candidates in the election, but also the victory of the people without a huge gap, said Prime Minister Information and Communication Technology Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy.
Last night, Sajeeb Wazed Joy revealed the results of his public opinion poll on his Verified Facebook account.
Joy told, We have conducted an opinion poll for the Mayoral elections of Dhaka North and South. We polled 1301 people in the North and 1245 people in the South. People were selected through random sampling from the voters list and then polled in person. The polling was conducted by a mock ballot, so that neither the enumerator nor we know who voted for whom. We have found this to be the most accurate method of polling. People are not afraid to select any candidate. Those who still don’t choose are the ones unlikely to vote since no election has 100% turnout. The margin of error is +/- 3%.
These polls were conducted when the candidates were first announced, so the actual results will vary a little. However, they may change 5-10% at most. It is simply not possible for any campaign to swing the vote more than 10%, especially in a month. In either case, these elections will not just be a landslide for the Awami League. They will be a walkover.
