“46 percent of the received 1291 complaints have already been settled since the inauguration of the Land Service Hotline 16122 last month, on the October 10th. Rest of the issues will also be settled” said Land Secretary Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary .
This datum was disclosed by the land secretary as the chair at the opening session of the workshop on ‘Review of the overall activities of the land ministry’ in the conference room of the land ministry at the Bangladesh Secretariat today on Wednesday.
The Land Secretary instructed the officers participating in the workshop to work better at inspecting the field-level office and take follow-up thereafter, making public hearings, paying compensation with transparency and properly collecting land revenue.
Chairman of Land Reforms Board Ummul Hasna said “We are now working on digitizing the land development tax collection system after setting up the e-mutation system across the country. Gradually, we will be working to digitize other land services.”
Additional Divisional Commissioners (Revenue), Deputy Land Reform Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners (Revenue) and Land Acquisition Officers of the Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Mymensingh division participated at the workshop. Various land-related issues were reviewed at the workshop, while participants presented their views thereafter.
Director-General of Land Records and Surveys Md. Taslimul Islam, Additional Secretaries of the Land Ministry Md. Mujibur Rahman, Md. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Md. Abdul Haque, Anis Mahmud were present at the inauguration event of the workshop.
It is noted that Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury is at the outside of Dhaka today to join another important program.
