Senior Secretary of Ministry of Land Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary has retired

Senior Secretary of Ministry of Land Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary has retired from government service today (December 31) after a successful career spanning almost 33 years.

He was given a farewell reception in the conference room of the land ministry following proper hygiene rules. Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury MP was present as the chief guest at the farewell reception. Newly appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Land Md Mustafizur Rahman, PAA was present at the time as Chair.

It is to be noted that, Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on 24 December 2020 by promoting Md Mustafizur Rahman as the Secretary of the Ministry of Land. Today, he officially took over the responsibility from Senior Secretary Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary.

Describing the outgoing senior secretary of the land ministry Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary a highly efficient civil service officer, land minister said, he had performed the huge task of digitization of the land ministry very efficiently and played an important role in developing the country. The Minister hoped that the newly appointed Secretary would efficiently take the developing work of the Land Ministry forward.

At the time, Senior Secretary Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving him the opportunity to work. He also thanked the land minister and all members of the land family for their cooperation.

Heads of all departments / agencies of the Ministry of Land, Additional Secretaries of the Ministry of Land and various levels of officials and employees including various project directors attended the reception.

It is to be noted that, Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary was promoted from the Secretary of the Ministry of Land to the post of Senior Secretary on December 10, 2020. Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary, an officer of the BCS administration cadre of the 1985 batch (joined in 1988) joined the Ministry of Land on 30 October 2018 as the Acting Secretary. Then on 26 May 2019, he was appointed as the land secretary. He worked in various fields of administration including as Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Division and Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Director General of Bangladesh National Museum, Deputy Commissioner of Tangail. Under his leadership, the team of the Ministry of Land won the ‘Digital Bangladesh Award 2020’ at the ‘National Level’ in the ‘Government – General Category’.

Public Administration Medal winner 10th batch officer of BCS Administration Cadre (joined in 1991) Md. Mostafizur Rahman PAA has worked in various fields of administration including project director of A2I and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jessore in his long career. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared Jessore as the first digital district of the country during his tenure of DC for strong leadership. Besides, winning the Best Deputy Commissioner twice, he won the E-Asia Medal and the Integrity Award for his contribution at the workplace.  He won ‘Digital Bangladesh Award 2020’ as a team member of the outgoing Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land Md. Muksodur Rahman Patwary’s team while he was the Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka.
