Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu in a statement on Tuesday, strongly condemned Israeli authorities’ attacks on Palestinians in Gaza, which left scores of Palestine civilians dead and several thousand injured.
Inu urged all international community to put pressure on Israel to stop the atrocities immediately, while expressing his deep sympathies for Palestinians.
As Palestinian protest against United States’ shifting its Embassy to Jerusalem continues through 15 May, the date commemorated by Palestinians as Nakba Day (Day of the Catastrophe) on which Israel declared independence in 1948 causing huge displacement of Palestinians, Information Minister Inu stressed on preserving the legal status of Jerusalem according to UN resolutions.
Inu reiterated Bangladesh’s position for establishing the State of Palestine on two-state solution and on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
