The News Desk/Nationl: Bangladesh United Buddhists’ Forum yesterday urged the Myanmar government to stop the current spate of violence on Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state.
The forum made the called at a human chain in front of National Press Club here tuesday morning. Chief Coordinator of United Buddhists’ Forum Ashok Barua read out a written statement.
“A vested quarter is using social media to mislead the common people against the peace-loving innocent Buddhists in Bangladesh over the Rohingya crisis,” he said.
Barua said the people of Bangladesh never support communal and violent acts. The forum convener urged the Myanmar government and its people to handle the issue in non-violent way.
“We always support peaceful coexistence,” he added.
He also said representatives of the forum will submit a memorandum to Myanmar Embassy in Dhaka on September 10 for a permanent solution on Rohingya issue in Rakhine state and this copy will be sent to all concerned international forums including the United Nations local office.
